Holiday in the Park at Six Flags St. Louis 2021 Season Review

Holiday in the Park Lights at Six Flags St. Louis (2021)

Holiday in the Park Lights at Six Flags St. Louis is a seasonal event. It runs after Frightfest is over, and then keeps the holiday cheer going till the end of the operating season. Make sure to get bundled uptight to experience exciting coasters, good food, and wonderful shows!

Holiday in the Park Lights: Exciting Thrills

With Holiday in the Park Lights in 2021, there are fewer rides than in seasons past. For Roller Coasters you will find Batman: The Ride and American Thunder open. Both offer a great experience. Also, very importantly, a different experience. Both have very little downtime. So more than likely you will be able to ride both. The line for American Thunder moves very quickly since they have both trains going. However, this isn’t the case with Batman. Only single train operations have been running so far. The sign outside says they are doing maintenance on the other train so hopefully this changes. Just be warned if you want to ride Batman you will be waiting a while.

If are going to run fewer coasters we wish they would have chosen River King Mine Train as one. Since both Batman and American Thunder are thrill rides they are for minumum of 54 and 48 inches respectively. With the Mine Train, they could have opened one for families with a minimum height restriction of 42 inches. That’s a lot of kids that won’t be able to experience a roller coaster.

Holiday in the Park Lights other rides

Besides the coasters, the park does have open a few other fun rides. Shazam is a classic Scrambler ride and offers a great thrilling experience for all. The Joker inc is a swinging pirate ship ride. It has been down most of the season, so it is really nice getting to ride that again. Lastly for the thrilling experience is Justice League: Battle for Metropolis. This is an indoor-dark-ride-shooter that asks you to help save the Justice League and all Metropolis. An outstanding ride that has a line that fills quickly. So if this is a must ride for your group, then make sure to check this one out early in the day.

Holiday in the Park Lights has the train going through a crosswalk.

Colossus and the Tommy G. Robertson Railroad are the perfect combo for families. With Colossus, you will go up 180 feet and get the best look anywhere in the park at the lights. While The Railroad will give you a tour of the park and see all the lights up close.

The train at night is decorated in lights and greenery.

The park does have all the rides over in Bugs Bunny National Park open. So if it is kiddie rides you are seeking they have lots of options. We rank Elmer Fudd Weather Balloons, Tweetie Twee House, and Yosemite Sam Tugboat Tailspin as the best rides for the young ones. But whatever type of experience, from spinning, leisure, or heights there is something here for everyone.

Good Food

Most of the park’s food options stay the same for Holiday in the Park Lights. However, there are a few highlights to point out. Over at the Funnel Cake stand you can find a Peppermint Funnel Cake and Fried Oreos. Both are only sold during this time of year. For us, it is those Fried Oreos that are a must-have.

The Funnel Cakes stand is all lit up and smells wonderful.
Follow the lights to the Fried Oreos!

If it is a meal you seek Fowl Bowl and JB’s Smokehouse BBQ offers a Smoked Turkey Sandwhich. It is a great sandwich that is one of the best options in the park. If you aren’t feeling festive then we would recommend getting a burger and fries over at Johnny Rockets. The two best places to eat regardless of what food you seek would be either JB’s or Johnny Rockets.

Holiday in the Park Lights has Wonderful Shows

The shows are the most important aspect of Holiday in the Park Lights. We think Six Flags St. Louis understands this. With how limited everything else is this year, they pulled out all the stops for the shows. There are more shows during this seasonal event than we can ever remember at any other time! Of course it is always a good way to seek shelter from the cold!

Miss Kitty's Christmas Presents Snowbound during the finale number. They are all at the edge of the stage dancing.

There are three must-see shows. First would be Miss Kitty’s Christmas Presents Snowbound. Charming and hilarious are the best way to describe it. The famous saloon has been hit by a blizzard and the characters must sell their goods, fall in love, and save them from being foreclosed. Perfect for anyone who likes singing, dancing, and classic goofy comedy.

Winter Wonder has tricks that are Christmas themed. Johnny has elfs on the stage chaining him up for a trick.

The second is Winter Wonder with Illusionist Johnny Magic. It works as just a magic show but with an eye towards holiday cheer. The show is made a must-see by just how funny and personable Johnny Magic is. His interactions with the crowd have made him a fan favorite of Six Flags St. Louis for seasons. Come for the magic but see it again for the laughs.

Mary and Joseph looking at their newborn son.

Lastly, is the main show for Holiday in the Park Lights. The Majesty of Christmas tells the traditional story of Mary and Joseph on their journey to Bethlehem for when baby Jesus was to be born. Filled with great songs, live animals, and a heartwarming message. This is one not to be missed! The huge Palace theatre gets packed for this show so be a Wiseman and show up early.

Other Holiday attractions

Holiday in the Park Lights has Santa's House. An elf is looking out the window and is excited to see everyone.
Santa’s elf is excited to see all the kids that will meet Father Christmas.

There is still tons to see and do in the park. You can catch A Christmas Scarol which tells the Charles Dickens classic but in just 15 minutes. There is a petting zoo over by Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast. They have outside Rockin’ Holiday Hits and Holiday Harmonies. Both of which are holiday singing shows. Holiday Harmonies is seen by the fountain, at the main gate. This is more of a Christmas Carroling show. Rockin’ Holiday Hits is a contemporary list of Christmas favorites. Catch this one by the train station. Add in over a million lights across the park and there is just something for everyone!

Holiday in the Park Lights offers Christmas shows at every turn. Shown is singers on the fountain.

Final Verdict

Holiday in the Park Lights may offer a limited experience but it is one that we loved. The park offers a great balance of experiences. Regardless if you just want to take a stroll and look at the pretty scenery or challenge Batman: The Ride, you will find something to entertain everyone. The biggest issue does come from the list of no shows in the ride department. However, Six Flags St. Louis isn’t the only company having issues finding the employees they need to offer the complete package. What they do offer is wonderful! We have a had blast this season, and we think you will also. Becuase of these reasons Holiday in the Park Lights at Six Flags St. Louis gets an eight out of ten.

Holiday in the Park Lights has a petting zoo has tons of animals. Lamas, goats and many others.
The petting zoo is perfect for young kids!
