Winter Wonder with Illusionist Johnny Magic is a brand new show for the 2021 Holiday in the Park Lights. He and his wonderful assistants have stepped out of their always popular show during Fright Fest and are now spreading some Holiday cheer. Head over to the cozy Empire theatre past Batman: The Ride and before Ninja where you can expect to see some very impressive magic/illusionist tricks.
Winter Wonder Experience
Once you enter the Empire Theatre you can choose from any row. There really isn’t a bad seat in this theatre. Once the show begins Johnny will do some magic tricks with his assistants. Normally of the saw-in-half category. Followed by an introduction to who he is and what the show is all about. Throughout, the magic tricks will be varied and will have you wondering about how they did that. In addition, he will always do some light humor and crowd work. All of the tricks for Winter Wonder are Christmas-themed. Which means colorful lights will be incorporated, or a touching tribute to his Grandmother. Wholesome and impressive entertainment for all ages.
Winter Wonder: The Good
For Holiday in the Park Johnny and his wonderful assistants have made a brand new show with all new magic tricks. This isn’t just a recycle of his awesome Jonny Magic Reality during Fright Fest. We love that one so much as is, that we wouldn’t have minded if it was. But they have a completely new set of illusions to amaze with.
One of the new ones has to do with a box and some lights that get pierced into it with one of the assistants inside. We don’t even have a starter guess at how that was achieved. All of the illusions were impressive.
Come for the illusions but stay for the comedy. Johnny Magic has always had such good showmanship and charm. It’s the crowd work that helps separate him from the pack. Doing impressive magic would get us to the Empire theatre once. However, we see his show every time we are in the park because we love to see his interactions with the audience. He continues to be very good with the kids in the crowd. The real magic of the show shines through in the personality.
The Bad
We have no new complaints about the show for Holiday in the Park. We would love a longer show at a bigger theatre but that isn’t really a complaint about this show. Because if the biggest complaint about a show is that you wish there was more of it, then that is a good thing.
Final Verdict
Winter Wonder with illusionist Johnny Magic is a great show. With tons of great magic to entertain guests of all ages. We are glad that Six Flags St. Louis has brought back a fan favorite for Holiday in the Park. We have no real complaints about the show and doubt you will either. Because of these reasons Winter Wonder gets a nine out of ten.
