Joker Inc. at Six Flags St. Louis

The Joker Inc. at Six Flags St. Louis first opened in 1980 under the name “The Buccaneer”. One of many Intamin swinging pirate ship rides at so many Theme Parks.

They are in so many because they are always a crowd-pleaser. The feeling in your gut when the boat swings to its top height, before swinging the other way, makes this one my family ride almost every time we go.

Joker Inc. at Six Flags analysis

Joker has a couple of elements that help it stand out. First, it has theming beyond Pirate. This isn’t Disney-level theming. Nor the theming of Justice League: Battle for Metropolis. But it’s enough to add a layer to the ride. The sculpture of Mr. J at the queue line entrance is great. The second is that any rider, of any size, is allowed on Joker as long as they are with an adult rider. Riding this with my two-year-old was a blast. It is hard to find any rides mildly thrilling that young kids can enjoy.

Speaking just as a fan of such rides I love the communal nature of this type. You can sit with large groups of people. The back-and-forth yelling between the sides always brings a smile to my face.

Final Verdict

When you have the right crew working the ride, who are having fun with it, The Joker Inc. can be a really great time. The way it drops your stomach is great without being too intense. I think any theme park is benefited from having a ride like this. On a scale of one to ten, I give Joker Inc. a seven.

Pros: Theming, fun interactions

Cons: not sitting in the back
