Bugs Bunny National Park at Six Flags STL

Bugs Bunny National Park is the kid portion of Six Flags, St. Louis. The kid section got a big upgrade in 2006. Before that, the kid section was located where American Thunder currently calls home. Six Flags St. Louis made a wise decision. While I don’t think it is perfect, I do think this was a wise investment.

Bugs Bunny National Park Overview

In the grand scheme of Six Flags parks, St. Louis is not one of those that get major investments. It sits somewhere in the middle tier, but probably on the lower end. This will of course affect any type of investment, and that is also true for the kiddie rides.

Scattered throughout this kid park you’ll find a lot of standard kid rides. Though I do not see one signature ride that is meant for kids. Still, any parents who are at Six Flags will find that their kids will have a great time here. I don’t find that kids generally care whether or not the “Zamperla” designed ride in front of them is bigger if they go to a different park.

Bugs Bunny National Park: The Best

My favorite ride is Elmer Fudd Weather Balloons. My kids want me to ride this with them, but let’s be honest, I want to ride this regardless. Rounding out the top tier, I also place Tweetie Twee House, Bugs Bunny Fort Fun, and Yosemite Sam Tugboat Tailspin.

Middle of the Road

Middle of the road I would rank Taz Twisters and Bugs Bunny Ranger Pilots. Nothing special but your kids will like them.

Lower End Rides

On the lower end of things, I rank Foghorn Leghorn National Park Railway as pretty useless. With Daffy Duck Stars on Parade and Marvin the Martian Camp Invasion is rounding out the bottom.

Special Features

It’s not a ride, but one element of this part of the park that I appreciate is the water tower by the Bugs Bunny National Park Train Station. Water shoots down from the tower, and also there are fountains hooked into the pavement. Kids are able to take off their shoes and have some cool-down fun. St. Louis has some very hot summers, and this has provided endless hours of entertainment for my family.

Bugs Bunny National Park needs a Roller Coaster

My biggest complaint with Bugs Bunny National Park is that there is no kid roller coaster. Part of having a kids section of rides is so that you can expose your children to these types of thrills. So that as they get older, they can graduate to the bigger, and better ones. When I was young the kid’s section had a very lame excuse for a kid roller coaster.

Lame as that thing was, I rode it constantly. I loved it. It made me want to go ride the big ones right now! By the time I got to be 42 inches and was able to ride the River King Mine Train, I was chomping at the bit. Six Flags St. Louis needs to somehow figure it out in their budget to get this Bugs Bunny National Park a roller coaster that can be for the ones not old enough yet.

Final Verdict

While it might not be as expansive, or the rides might not be as big, and there might not be a roller coaster, yet I have spent countless hours having fun with my family here. I am very glad that the park spent the money in 2006 to give us this upgrade. On a scale of one to ten, I would give Bugs Bunny National Park a 7.5. Just please add that roller coaster soon!
