Zamperla is a builder of all types of theme park attractions. Since their founding in 1966, they have become a major force. No matter what the park is in the market for.
Zamperla Roller Coasters
They have an impressive amount of roller coasters built. Though most are smaller coasters. They are not trying to compete with the fastest and biggest. Instead, they concentrate more on smaller plots of land that a coaster can be built on. Then tore down and sold to another park. Basically, they are just selling a great product at a competitive price. They are doing it a lot since as of this writing they are getting close to 400 coasters built worldwide!
Zamperla is also a leader in Flat Rides
Zamperla has a diverse selection of flat rides. With so many models that a park can choose from, they have become a major player in this space. Like their Giant Discovery. These have been highly successful wherever installed. They are built for high thrills and have great capacity. Take for example Crazanity at Six Flags Magic Mountain which is a Giga Discovery. A Giga here means that it is the biggest model of this line. Parks can opt for the smaller options that will still offer a similar ride experience. Magic Mountain went all out when they ordered this one.
Other notable flat rides
Zamperla also has the noteworthy Disk’O line. Just like with the Discovery, parks can choose a couple of different options for the size. Parks can opt for the Mega Disk’O like Electro Spin at Silver Dollar City. Or there is the Disk’O Coaster which takes the half-pipe design of the Mega and puts a hill into the mix. Like Kobra at Chessington World of Adventures. But does it count as a credit?
The Future
They have proven to be very resilient over the years. There are no signs of them slowing down now. That is because they have so many diverse product lines. Zamperla builds quality products that any park can own. Their models are in different sizes. So if a park cannot afford the big model then they will still get something good. Their top-of-the-line models will keep getting ordered by the larger parks. Whether or not they will become a major competitor for top-tier roller coasters is yet to be seen. Though I think they will not. They have a great business model going. Chances are they will continue on the path that has already worked so well for them.
