Roller Coaster Credit: Coaster Slang

Roller Coaster Credit is a term that Coaster Enthusiast uses to add up how many roller coasters they have ridden. Every new coaster a person rides they get a credit. That way when you talk with another enthusiast you can compare how many credits you both have. So what exactly counts and doesn’t count as a credit?

Roller Coaster Credit: How to Keep Score

Let’s say you ride a coaster, then it gets torn down and reassembled someplace else. Does that count as a credit? Or you ride a racing coaster on both sides. Does that count as one credit or two? The answer to both questions is that whatever you think is best you can make that decision. The whole point of the credit system is to have fun. It pushes people to go to parks that would be overlooked but they want their credit count higher. Roller Coasters should be a source of fun. If you get legalistic about it then no one is having fun.

Seriously How to keep Score

If you demand to know what counts as a credit and what doesn’t then we will weigh in on the topics. Keep in mind this is our opinion.

  1. Is a Racing Coaster count as 1 or 2 credits? If the coaster is a racing coaster like American Eagle at Six Flags Great America then it is two credits. If it has you go through both courses before continuously like Twisted Colussus at Six Flags Magic Mountain then it is one credit.
  2. Do Larson Loops Count as a credit? No, what the heck is wrong with you? Only roller coasters count as a credit.
  3. Do kid coasters Count count as a credit? Yes, they count. A credit is a credit no matter how small.
  4. If a coaster is torn down and sent to another park is it a credit? Yes.
  5. If a coaster gets a retheme and new name but stays in the same park is it a new credit? No
  6. If a coaster gets new trains is it a new credit? Usually no unless the type of trains is drastically different. If your PTC wooden trains are now Gerstlauer trains then no. If your B&M looper becomes a B&M floorless then yes. Since the ride is fundamentally changed at that point.
  7. Do Mountain Coasters Count? Yes
  8. Do backyard Coasters Count? Yes, if they are on RCDB then it can be counted.
  9. If a Coaster gets the RMC conversion do I get two credits? Yes if you rode it before and after the conversion that would be two credits.
  10. If I ride Batman: The Ride at Six Flags St. Louis does it count if I ride a clone of it at another park. Yes, clones always count for each one you ride. So you rode 4 of the Batman Clones. You have 4 credits.

Roller Coaster Credit is for Fun and Thanks for Reading!

Just have fun with it. Roller Coaster Credit tracking gives you a sense of accomplishment for convincing the ride op on the kid coaster to let you ride. However, just keep in mind that it is all for fun. If you disagree with any of our answers from above then roast me in the comments. Any scenarios you need to have answered then also put those in the comments. Always look something up at Roller Coaster DataBase (rcdb.com) chances are if it is a credit it will be found there.
