Giant Barn Swing at Silver Dollar City

The Giant Barn Swing at Silver Dollar City has been in operation since 2007. It is manufactured by S&S – Sansei Technologies from their Screamin’ Swing model. Tucked away almost at the very back of the park. Is it worth walking all the way up there?

Giant Barn Swing Experience

Riders who are at least 48 inches tall sit in 1 of 31 seats. After being restrained by a pretty comfortable lap bar (The same as the kind on Powder Keg) the ride gets to swinging.

The name says it all it’s in a giant barn and you’re on a swing. It starts off going up then back. steadily it will get to the point where you will be looking straight down at the ground while going back and straight up at the sky when going forward.

Giant Barn Swing The Good

A shot with the Giant Barn and the Swing going to the right.

It has a pretty good capacity since the 31 riders can ride at one time. Is comfortable to sit in. And it is one of the more intense flat rides I’ve ever ridden. Yet it is not so intense that I won’t ride it for fear of vomiting. It hits that sweet spot that most flat Rides fail. I find it has a perfect balance of intensity. You do have two options, you can either face towards Mystic River Falls and see the rest of the park, or you can do my favorite and face the other way and get about the only good look at the park’s best roller coaster Outlaw Run that you’re going to get.

The Bad

My only complaint with this ride is it is rather short. That does help with the line to move fast but this ride only lasts for a little bit more than 60 seconds. Sometimes flat rates can get repetitive if they go too long so this is only a minor complaint. However, I wouldn’t have minded if this one went a little longer.

Final Verdict

Giant Barn Swing at Silver Dollar City is another great addition to a park that seems to do it right every single time. It’s very fun and intense. The capacity makes it so that you and whatever size group you’re with will be able to have fun together. In our opinion, this is the best flat ride at the park. On a scale of 1 to 10, we give Giant Barn Swing a nine.

Pros: Giant Barn, comfortable restraints, good capacity

Cons: little short
