S&S – Sansei Technologies was founded by Stan and Sandy Checketts in 1994. The first initials are where the company derives its name. They are most well known as a designer and manufacture of quality Roller Coasters and Amusement Rides.
S&S – Sansei Technologies Acquisitions
S&S – Sansei Technologies didn’t actually acquire Custom Coasters International when they went bankrupt in 2002. But before any of them started their own companies, S&S hired a bunch of them and began developing Wooden Coasters.
Arrow Dynamics was arguably the biggest Roller Coaster designer and manufacturer at one time. At the turn of the century for a variety of reasons, they were not doing well. S&S purchased the bankrupt Arrow’s assets. Seeing it as an opportunity to expand their marketplace share.
Vekoma was once their fiercest competitor. S&S acquired Vekoma in 2008. Thus ending the bitter rivalry as they are now a part of the same company.
Having such a diverse team from across the world S&S has positioning itself to be a major force in the theme park industry. Whenever a company in this space is having some struggles S&S gives them a look. To their credit, it seems that most of the companies they acquire end up better off than before the acquisition.
S&S – Sansei Technologies Major Roller Coasters
S&S has developed some of the greatest roller coasters in the world. Chances are that if you have ridden a coaster with a compressed air launch then it was an S&S design. Take for example Do-Dodonpa at Fuji-Q Highland. Significantly this is the fastest acceleration in the world! Going from 0 to 106.9 mph in 1.8 seconds!
S&S – Sansei Technologies 4-D Free Spin
Easily there most cloned coaster is the 4-D Free Spin model. This is where you can really see the influence of Arrow Dynamics paying off for the company. These are fast-paced and disorientating coasters. Each ride is unique due to many different factors.
Eejanaika at Fuji-Q Highland
This is a 4th Dimension coaster and is like the big brother to the 4-D Free Spin. Instead of the simple layout, these have a complex series of flips and turns. While the free spins will spin at random this model instead has it controlled.
Maxx Force at Six Flags Great America
Maxx Force has the fastest acceleration of any coaster in the United States. It also uses the compressed air launch.
Steel Curtain at Kennywood
One of their most unique ones is Steel Curtain. With 9 inversions and a top speed of 75 mph, it is also really intense. Being able to boast that this is the only coaster in the world named after an NFL sports team. Because of the very good marketing and theming makes this one stand out.
Axis Coaster coming soon!
This coaster concept hasn’t been built yet. However, at their plant in Utah, they do have a working concept of it. When one of these finally opens it will unquestionably be a massive hit. Because of innovation like this, the future is very bright for S&S – Sansei Technologies
