The Majesty of Christmas

The Majesty of Christmas at Six Flags St. Louis

The Majesty of Christmas at Six Flags St. Louis is a live show during Holiday in the Park. It tells the story of the baby Jesus being born. Filled with good songs, animals, and a wonderful message. Highly recommended for all ages.

The Majesty of Christmas Experience

You can catch this show at the huge Palace theatre. Located very close to the front of the park. While it is huge, you will still need to show up a good 15 minutes early to get a good seat.

The Majesty of Christmas has all of its actors lined up on the stage singing.

When the show starts, the lights will go down. The Narrator introduces the story to us in a song. It sets up the tale of Mary and Joseph on their journey right before Jesus was born. The Show will go through the events of them searching for an inn, his birth, the Three Wisemen, and then a celebration. Told primarily through songs. Live animals help to up the spectacle of it all. The show will last around 35 minutes.

The Majesty of Christmas: The Good

The songs are great. That is a good thing because it is all songs that propel the story forward. They all have a similar feel to them and build upon each other. There are a couple of standouts along the way but in a smart fashion, it is the finale that brings down the house. When we see the show, the applause at the end is tremendous!

Being as this is the main show for Holiday in the Park, Six Flags St. Louis really puts a lot into this show. The set looks fantastic. Some of the smaller theatres have constant issues with the sound. Yet, with this show, we saw no technical hiccups. But it is always the animals that really help push this one over the top. Seeing the camel bring one of The Wisemen onto the stage always gets a gasp from the audience.

It is heartwarming to have an actual Christian show during Christmas. The first time we went to see this show we were a little worried. If you are fearing that this will be making jokes about something so sacred then put them to rest. It treats its source material with respect. Also worth mentioning is that this doesn’t feel like a church play either. As long as you are comfortable with the word “Christmas” then you will love this show.

The Bad

All of the principal players are very good, however, you can tell some of the extras are not so into it. Most shows have only the main actors in them to worry about. Because this one is so big that not everyone on the stage is an actor, and sadly it shows. However, this might just be the type of thing that nitpicky theme park nerds will notice. We don’t want to give the idea that it is a constant issue either. Just something that we noticed that detracted from the experience.

Final Verdict

The Majesty of Christmas is a great show for Holiday in the Park. They really pull out all the stops to make this one big. With great spectacle and good songs, this one will be enjoyed by all. While you could nitpick a few things, there is little to detract from the message and experience. Because of these reasons, The Majesty of Christmas gets an eight and a half out of ten.
