Flying Ace Balloon Race at Worlds of Fun

Flying Ace Balloon Race at Worlds of Fun has been in operation since 2011. Designed and manufactured by Zamperla from their Balloon Race line. A kiddie spinning ride with some nice theming and low thrills. A fun ride for the whole family that will please the young ones.

Flying Ace Balloon Race at Worlds of Fun Experience

Flying Ace Balloon Race at Worlds of Fun sits towards the back of the park in the Planet Snoopy section. Located right next to PEANUTS™ 500 and PEANUTS™ Road Rally. It is rare to encounter a long line for this ride. Riders must be at least 42 inches to ride alone, but anyone under 42 can ride if accompanied by an adult. Riders are kept safe with a seatbelt and each balloon has a gate that locks. Once the ride attendant has checked all restraints, the fun can begin!

Flying Ace Balloon Race at Worlds of Fun has a Snoopy statue right next to it with the ride in the background.

When the ride begins the ballons will begin to spin around the tower. Then slowly the balloons will start to ascend the tower which stands at 40 feet. Once at the top it will then begin to go back down. While the ride is in motion you are able to spin a wheel that sits in the middle of the balloons to make your balloon spin even more. The ride duration is about a minute and thirty seconds. Once the ride attendant gives the all-clear, you are able to undo your restraint and exit the ride safely.

Flying Ace Balloon Race at Worlds of Fun: The Good

We love when there is a kid version of a ride that the young ones cannot ride yet. This is almost the exact same ride as Falcon’s Flight. However, there is a crucial difference here. With Flying Ace Balloon Race you have the ability to control how intense of a ride you want. It can be kind of relaxing just sitting back and letting the ride do its thing. But if you want an intense ride then spin that wheel! If the kids or the adults are strong enough you can get your balloon to spin pretty fast. It is great to allow the riders to choose how intense of a ride they want to have.

Almost every kiddie park everywhere has one of these Zamperla Balloon race rides. That is for a good reason. They have a really great look to them and they are constantly one of the best rides in the kid park. That is true here.

The ride has reached to the top of the 40-foot spike..

We will always give extra points to any kid’s ride that will let the adults in on the fun. Though adults should be warned that this is designed for kids but can accommodate adults. It may be a tight squeeze for most adults. It is worth getting shoehorned into this ride to be able to experience the fun, and help make the balloon spin faster, with the kids!

The Bad

These types of rides come with a couple of variations. Here we have one that travels up a 40-foot spike. That is fun but our favorite is the one that tilts while spinning. Like Elmer Fudd Weather Balloons at Six Flags St. Louis. Very much a nitpick since this doesn’t make this a bad ride. Just not our favorite of these for this ride type.

Final Verdict

Flying Ace Balloon Race at Worlds of Fun is a great addition to the park. One of the very best of the huge lineup in Planet Snoopy! A great ride experience the whole family can enjoy. You are in the driver’s seat with how much spinning you want. The negatives are so minor that they are barely worth mentioning. Because of these reasons, Flying Ace Balloon Race at Worlds of Fun gets a nine out of ten.
