Cosmic Coaster at Worlds of Fun has been in operation since 1993. Designed and manufactured by Preston & Barbieri from their Wacky Worm line. A kiddie roller coaster with some nice theming and low thrills. A good intro to coasters for up-and-coming coaster enthusiasts.
Cosmic Coaster at Worlds of Fun Experience
Cosmic Coaster at Worlds of Fun is a kiddie roller coaster that serves as the main attraction at Planet Snoopy. Located right next to SNOOPY™ vs Red Baron and SNOOPY’S™ Space Buggies. The line for this one is consistently pretty packed. If the line is at all built up expect around 20 to 30 minutes of waiting. We recommend you prioritize this ride for early in the day. You can lap this thing over and over again before the park gets busy. Riders must be at least 42 inches to ride alone, but anyone under 42 can ride if accompanied by an adult. Riders are kept safe with a seatbelt for each individual seat. Once the ride attendant has checked all restraints the fun can begin!
The coaster will dispatch into a small turnaround and into a chain lift hill. That leads to the centerpiece of this coaster which is the giant pumpkin! From there the ride will go through turns and small dips. All of which are taken slowly. The ride duration is about one minute total when it comes to a stop back at the station. Once the ride attendant gives the all-clear, you are able to undo your restraint and exit the ride safely.
Cosmic Coaster at Worlds of Fun: The Good
Does Cosmic Coaster at Worlds of Fun provides a great ride experience? Not exactly. Most adults would rather go ride Mamba which looms over this. Yet, this coaster is always buzzing with excitement. Kids love this coaster! Since it is designed and maintained for them then we call that a success.
A giant pumpkin tunnel. That’s it, that’s all we have to say about that!
By far our favorite thing about Cosmic Coaster at Worlds of Fun is that adults can get in on the action. We will always give extra points to any kid ride that lets adults in on the experience. Even better, is that everyone can get in on the fun. There is no height restriction on this coaster. As long as the kid can sit up on their own, then they can ride.
The Bad
As alluded to above this isn’t exactly a well-designed or executed roller coaster. Even by kiddie coaster standards, this is a slow and forceless ride. This is an older attempt at the kiddie coaster and it shows.
The line can make this one a bother. It will only ever run one train. Kids aren’t exactly fast at getting ready to ride. This all adds up to a wait time that takes longer than you think it will, no matter how many are in line.
Final Verdict
Cosmic Coaster at Worlds of Fun is the most popular attraction in the huge Planet Snoopy. While the adults may just be riding it with the kids, those kids are going to have a blast! Some theming and classic jankiness, do add some to the charm. However, it can be uncomfortable, and take forever to get on. Because of these reasons, we give Cosmic Coaster at Worlds of Fun a six and a half out of ten.
