Camp Bus at Worlds of Fun

Camp Bus at Worlds of Fun has been in operation since 2001. Designed and manufactured by Zamperla from their Crazy Bus line. Riders enter a kid-sized Camp Bus (get it) that will rotate up and down. Great for families with younger thrill seekers.

Camp Bus at Worlds of Fun Experience

Camp Bus at Worlds of Fun is a kiddie ride that sits inside of Planet Snoopy. Located right next to Lucy’s Tugboat and Sally’s Swing Set. This one gets a fair amount of traffic, but the line doesn’t get crazy. So there is no need to prioritize this ride over another. Riders must be at least 36 inches tall to ride alone. However, anyone under 36 inches can ride as long as they are accompanied by an adult rider. A locked gate on each row will keep all riders safe. Once the ride attendant has them all locked, the fun can begin!

Once the ride starts the Bus will move forward and up. At the halfway point it will start its descent down. Mostly the ride consists of this motion over and over. The whole experience will last around a minute and a half. Once the ride has come to a complete stop the ride attendant will unlock all the gates. You are now able to exit the ride safely.

Camp Bus at Worlds of Fun: The Good

While its adult riders likely won’t think of this as thrilling it is a good starter ride for getting kids used to heights. The motion it takes does give a decent amount of sensation to it. This will have the effect that this ride is going to please the much younger in your group. Camp Snoopy has a staggering 20 rides, so having a ride like this to help them get used to heights before graduating to Cosmic Coaster helps strengthen this lineup.

The theming here helps elevate the ride. The bus itself looks wonderful. The Yellow bus with the green forest behind it makes this an eye-catching ride. Another nice touch is having the Snoopy characters painted into the bus. The kids often pick which row they want to sit in so they can sit by a specific character. Little touches like that make a ride better.

The coaster Mamba can be seen in the background as the ride is at its highest point.

By far our favorite thing about Camp Bus at Worlds of Fun is that grown-ups can get to join in on the fun! We will always give extra points to any kid ride that lets adult supervisors ride with the kids. It can be a tight squeeze, but more than worth it.

The Bad

Nitpicking a kid’s ride meant for the youngest guest may miss the point. But since we are picking nits here there is an issue with the ride. Flat rides can get boring if they only do one thing over and over again. There is very little variation here in either speed or motion. It would be fun if it could halfway spin the opposite way.

Adults and kids are shown having fun together.

Final Verdict

Camp Bus at Worlds of Fun is a great addition to the park. It offers a really fun experience for its target audience. The Theming here really adds to the experience. The youngest in your group will think it’s a blast, and the adults can get in on the fun! Complaints are kept to a barely worth mentioning. Because of these reasons, Camp Bus at Worlds of Fun gets a seven out of ten.

The bus has come back down and the ride op will unlock all the restraints.
