Falcon’s Flight at Worlds of Fun has been in operation since 2017. Designed and manufactured by HUSS from their Condor line. Falcon’s Flight was a relocation from Hungary where it operated from 1999-2013 under the name Ikarus. Riders are spun around while being brought up high to take in the beautiful sights of the park. This is a charming ride with the right balance of thrill for the whole family to enjoy.
Falcon’s Flight at Worlds of Fun Experience
Falcon’s Flight at Worlds of Fun sits about halfway into the park, in the Europa Section. Located right next to Autobahn and Flying Dutchman. It is rare to find a long wait for this ride. So there is no need to prioritize this ride for wait time reasons. Riders must be at least 48 inches in order to ride alone. Any riders between 42 and 48 inches can ride as long as they are accompanied by an adult. You will be kept safe by a seat belt, and each condor car will have the roof closed and locked. Once the ride attendants have checked all the restraints get ready to take flight!
The ride has four different arms with seven falcon cars on each. Each of the arms forms a circle and will rotate around each other. Then the falcons will raise up the tower standing at 100 feet. In each cycle, the condors will rise to the top and come back down all while the spinning continues. Safely back down to the ground, the falcons will stop spinning. The total ride time is just shy of 2 minutes. The ride attendant will give the all clear and your falcon’s roof will unlock. You are good to exit the ride safely.
Falcon’s Flight at Worlds of Fun: The Good
The refurbishment done to this ride when they installed it in 2017 was immaculate. This looks like a brand new ride. The colors make it pop when you see it spinning high up in the air. The way it spins around at night time with its light package is just awesome. Lastly, the Falcon cars themselves look premium. This is one of our favorite-looking rides in the whole park.
These are classic theme park rides for a great reason. They provide a thrilling experience that packs enough of a punch to please thrill seekers and isn’t so crazy that it will scare away those who don’t. The spinning while going up the spike is exciting, and provides great views of the beautiful park.
A lot of thrill rides can only be experienced when you get about 48 inches. This is one of the best in the park for those between 42 and 48 since they can ride with an adult. Tons of family fun to be had on this classic.
The Bad
Flat Rides that don’t offer a balance in motion can feel very repetitive. The only real complaint we have with Falcon’s Flight at Worlds of Fun is that once the ride is up to full speed you will have experienced everything the ride has to offer. The sights will be different up at the top but the forces will stay the same. The falcons can move a little bit independently of the ride but it is very minimal. Still fun, but the lack of variation will make this one a little too repetitive.
Final Verdict
Falcon’s Flight at Worlds of Fun is a good addition to the park. There are fewer and fewer of these in theme parks lately. Falcon’s Flight looks so good that we think it is around to stay. A great thrill machine that should please the whole family. Just too repetitive to be a favorite at the park. Because of these reasons, Falcon’s Flight at Worlds of Fun gets a seven out of ten.
