Oddball’s FunHouse at Six Flags St. Louis

Oddball’s FunHouse at Six Flags St. Louis is a paid haunted attraction during Fright Fest. Located in the exit Arcade from Thunder River. That means it is after Pandemonium and before Supergirl. Oddball is a clown and for whatever reason, he has decided that killing is preferable to making people laugh.

Oddball’s FunHouse Experience

The House won’t open until after the Freaks Unleashed show has ended and it is close to dark. Once you make it through the normally very short line you will be greeted by one of the clowns. They will give you the rules which consist of stay together, no pictures, and if you are going to freak out please leave now. Once all agree they will open the door and the fun begins. Once you enter it will be tight spaces, obstacles, black lights, and frequent “gotcha” moments. The whole thing lasts a little over five minutes and then hopefully you will exit safely back out into the arcade.

Oddball’s FunHouse: The Good

There is just something scarier about a haunted attraction that is inside. Oddball’s has a very claustrophobic feel to it. Then you have the fun clown theme. The demented clowns are having fun. The scare actors are normally some of the best in the park. Being a scary clown must let them just have fun with it.

Frequently you cannot trust what you are stepping on. From obstacles to ball pits, it forces people to slow down in this one. The amount of ground you travel through may not be as long as others but you will still get a nice chunk of time at this house.

The Bad

Oddball feels restrained in its execution. Like this is meant for families. There is nothing too frightening or disturbing to look at. If you are going to make people pay for your haunted house then it should be as scary as you can get it.

Final Verdict

Oddball’s FunHouse is fun if just a little underwhelming haunted house. Playing on people’s fear of scary clowns is a great theme. Also, we love the obstacles in the paths and black lighting that gives this one a distinct feel. This one just needs more scary encounters. Some disturbing imagery would have also gone a long way. Because of these reasons, Oddball’s FunHouse gets a six out of ten.
