Freaks Unleashed at Six Flags St. Louis is a show that helps to separate the tamer daytime fun from the more intense thrills at nighttime. Located at the Palace Porch steps usually around 6 PM. During the show, you will get to see some singing and dancing, but the finale is what people come for. When you hear the whistle blow the fun will begin.
Freaks Unleashed Experience
This is the most popular show during Fright Fest. The mass of people that gather for this show is something to experience. When the show begins some dancers, accompanied by some pyrotechnics, will begin some dancing and singing. This will go on for about 3 songs then the train whistle will blow. Watching the train come by is quite the experience.
The freaks will exit the train and begin to swarm all around the crowd. Walking from one side to the other just hoping to find people to scare.
Freaks Unleashed: The Good
It almost feels like a rock show when this begins. The mass of people provides energy that you just don’t normally get at a theme park. Which the mass of people will also help for the finale. When the Freaks Unleashed from the train happens it is such an experience. Watching some get super scared will never lose its fun factor.
The people playing the freaks (for the most part) do a great job here. They provide a lot of fun energy. There is always the guy walking around with his chainsaw, the demonic clowns, and on and on. You can tell that they love what they are doing. Just a ton of fun for those that like this type of thing.
The Bad
The show before the Freaks are unleashed is nothing special. To be fair, it isn’t bad. Just nothing special. Then it is good that they saved the best for last.
This could be bad based upon what your expectations are. Every year we see groups of people who don’t realize what they are signing up for. As fun as it can be getting to watch the teenagers get scared, it is not fun seeing the young kid crying as the parents rush them from the area. So if you are going here please understand that it is a little more intense than your average show. For that, you will want to see Love at First Fright.
Final Verdict
The Freaks Unleashed is always a lot of fun. The freaks running amok never gets old. Please be warned that this is a little more intense than your average show at Six Flags St. Louis. But for all who understand what they are in for this is one of the highlights of Fright Fest. Because of this Freaks Unleashed gets a 9 out of 10.
