Linus' Beetle Bugs at Worlds of Fun has Pink, Purple, and green Bettle vehicles.

Linus’ Beetle Bugs at Worlds of Fun

Linus’ Beetle Bugs at Worlds of Fun has been operating since 1979, when it was called Beetle Bumps. It has changed names and places in the park but still offers the same fun this many years later. Its most recent name changed to Linus’ Beetle Bugs and moved to its current home in 2001. Kids pick the color of beetle they like and go round in circles with tiny bunny hills. It should please the very young with its charming design.

Linus’ Beetle Bugs at Worlds of Fun Experience

Linus’ Beetle Bugs at Worlds of Fun sits towards the back of the park in the Planet Snoopy section, next to Charlie Brown’s Wind-Up and Woodstock Whirlybirds. The line for this is never long. Riders cannot be taller than 54 inches. As long as they can sit up, they can join the fun. A safety belt will ensure all stay in their Beetle while the ride is in motion. Once the ride attendant has checked all restraints, the fun can begin!

Linus' Beetle Bugs at Worlds of Fun entrance sign has Linus not smelling good and that is attracting the beetles.

The Beetles will begin to spin around the structure when the ride starts. The Circle has tiny bunny hills for some variety. The ride duration is about a minute and a half. Once the ride has come to a complete stop, the ride attendant will give the all-clear. They can undo their belt and exit the ride safely.

Linus’ Beetle Bugs at Worlds of Fun: The Good

For a ride operating since the ’70s, this looks great! Kudos to Worlds of Fun for keeping the legacy of this ride going without making it look like an antique. The Bettles are nicely painted and themed well.

A parent is inside the ride removing their kid after the ride.

For what it is, this still gives a pleasurable experience to the younger kids. It still moves well and can still be exciting because of the mini bunny hills. When we say “exciting,” we mean for the very young But, for that group, this can still be a lot of fun.

The Bad

While we think this runs and looks well for a kid ride from the ’70s, the ride certainly shows some age. While this ride is not bad, it certainly is a lesser model. An attraction like this can do fine in a kid park like Planet Snoopy with its 20-plus rides. Linus’ Beetle Bugs does what other rides in Planet Snoopy already do but not as well.

Excited faces of children while the ride is in motion.

Final Verdict

Linus’ Beetle Bugs at Worlds of Fun is a decent addition to the park. They have kept this classic running well and should please the very young. We recommend this as a good starter ride for those not used to theme park attractions. While it is fun, the ride doesn’t do anything else that other rides already do better. Because of these reasons, Linus’ Beetle Bugs at Worlds of Fun gets a six and a half out of ten.
