Kite Eating Tree at Worlds of Fun has been operating since 2001, designed and manufactured by S&S from their bounce/drop tower line. A kid-sized drop tower for those not tall enough to ride Detonator yet. This ride has an excellent name to accompany this fun ride that will please its target audience.
Kite Eating Tree at Worlds of Fun Experience
Kite Eating Tree at Worlds of Fun sits towards the back of the park in the Planet Snoopy section, next to Sally’s Swing Set and PEANUTS™ Turntyke. You will only encounter a longer wait for this one on jam-packed days. Riders must be at least 36 inches to ride. Riders are kept safe with a seatbelt and a safety bar. Once the ride attendant has checked all restraints, it’s time to get this kite flying!
The car will raise the 20-foot tower when the ride begins. Once at the top, it will quickly drop and bounce back up. The ride will do this a couple of more times. The ride duration is about one minute. Once safely back to the ground, the ride attendant will give the all-clear. They can undo their restraint and exit the ride safely.
Kite Eating Tree at Worlds of Fun: The Good
While it may not look intimidating to most adults, the kids get a thrill from this ride. It always has kids smiling, laughing, and sometimes screaming with delight! This one is high up for one of the kid rides. Then the quick drop always gets a reaction. But it is that bounce that we think is why this one is so popular. It’s a very unnatural feeling of a sudden drop followed by a bounce upward. Additionally, adults should try this since it does offer a unique experience.
We will always give extra points to any kid ride that lets adults enjoy the fun! It’s a great experience sitting next to your kid and riding this together. The adult riders may not be blown away by the forces it offers, but we think most will be surprised at just how fun it is.
Parents, get your cameras ready since this ride is one of the best for snapping memories. Each drop allows capturing the looks of joy on the kiddo’s faces a sinch.
The Bad
The ride can only seat seven riders at a time. Some of those six will likely need help on and off the ride. So if a line has formed, get ready to do some waiting. However, this will only be an issue if the park is bustling. One nice thing about Planet Snoopy is the sheer number of rides, which helps prevent bottlenecks.
Final Verdict
Kite Eating Tree at Worlds of Fun is an excellent addition to the park. One of the very best of the vast lineup in Planet Snoopy! The kids will be thrilled, and the parents will love the pictures. Even the name is just so charming! A slow-moving line is the only drawback. Because of these reasons, Kite Eating Tree at Worlds of Fun gets an eight out of ten.
