Rudolph’s Round-Up

Rudolph’s Round-Up at Holiday World

Rudolph’s Round-Up at Holiday World has been in operation since 2011. This great-looking ride is your typical kiddie ride that goes around and around. It is located in Rudolph’s Reindeer Ranch and should please any young thrill-seekers.

Rudolph’s Round-Up Rider Experience

Young thrill-seekers need to be taller than 36 inches and less than 54 inches in order to ride. They will be kept safe by a belt that is in each row. Each row can seat two children. Once the ride attendant has checked each child’s restraint the spinning can begin! There are 6 Sleighs in total that will spin around the structure. The sleighs can lift up or down when the ride is spinning. The first row of the sleigh has a button that the kids will have to press to make it go high. The fun lasts around 45 seconds, then will begin to slow and come down to the ground. When the ride has come to a complete stop it is safe for them to exit.

Rudolph’s Round-Up: The Good

Rudolph’s Round-Up is the star attraction in this kid area. All the other rides are from the 70s and have been rethemed to fit this section of the park. In contrast, this ride looks newer and so much more impressive. Outside of a Disney theme park, you would be hard-pressed to find a more impressive-looking kid ride. Each sleigh just looks outstanding.

Each sleigh can sit up to 4 children total. For most kid rides you are lucky if two kids can sit together. In addition, it means that 24 kids can ride each cycle. It really helps in keeping this line moving.

Rudolph’s Round-up has sleighs with bears, presents, and even Santa on display.

The Bad

Rudolph’s Round-Up does offer just more of the same type of ride as all the other kid rides in its area. We could have seen this more like a train ride that goes through the area or something like that. Since this is the main attraction in the area it does stick out that it has nothing new to offer as for a ride experience.

In kid ride that elevates once the ride is in motion, we just prefer it to do it on its own. Comet’s Rockets does it all on its own. Here kids have to push a button to get it to rise. Either the kids understand what to do and get it elevated, or they don’t, and then look confused the whole ride wondering why theirs isn’t high like the others. We think these kinds of rides should just do it automatically.

Final Verdict

Rudolph’s Round-Up was a great addition to Holiday World. Its high capacity and incredible-looking sleighs making it stand out. Just wish it wasn’t more of the same. However, its target audience is going to love it. Because of these reasons, Rudolph’s Round-Up gets a seven and a half out of ten.
