Comet's Rockets at Holiday World

Comet’s Rockets at Holiday World

Comet’s Rockets at Holiday World has been in operation since the 1970s. Young children are able to fly the low-hanging sky in these old-fashioned rockets that spin. Blast off happens inside the parks kid section called Rudolph’s Reindeer Ranch.

Comet’s Rockets Rider Experience

Only children under 54 inches are able to ride. Each of the Rockets can sit two kids. The front seat is in the forward position, and the back seat is in the backward position. They will be kept safe with a seatbelt which the ride op will check prior to launch. When it does, the Rockets will rise a couple of feet into the air and begin to spin around the structure. This lasts about 30 seconds until the ride will slow down and come back down to the ground. Once it comes to a complete stop, they can unbuckle and exit the ride.

This is the old paint job. The ride still does everything else the same. In not a surprise to anyone, they removed the mounted guns!

Comet’s Rockets: The Good

With most kid airplane rides, we see they will have some kind of button or lever to pull to get the vehicle to rise. All the kids want to go up, so it only taxes those young enough who don’t understand what to do. However, with Comets Rockets it does it all on its own.

Also, the Rockets having a seat facing backward is really cool. That way when they want to re-ride it 10 times they have a choice with how they want to ride.

Lastly, we were shocked when we looked this up and saw this was from the 70s. This doesn’t look like that old of a ride. From the paint job to just the looks of the mechanics. Holiday World’s maintenance crew is second to none.

The Bad

The ride duration seems too short for us. This must keep the line going but this could use another 30 seconds of ride time.

Final Verdict

Comet’s Rockets was a great addition to the park. Whether sitting backward or forward the kids will have a blast on this. Only wish it was a little longer for them. Because of these reasons, Comet’s Rockets gets an eight and a half out of ten.
