Lucky’s Dizzy Dogs at Silver Dollar City

Lucky’s Dizzy Dogs has been in operation at Silver Dollar City since 2015. It is located in the Fireman’s Landing section of the park. This ride was designed and manufactured by Zamperla from their Jump Around Model. Great theming and its setting right next to the water make this one kid ride that is highly recommended.

Lucky's Dizzy Dogs about to start spinning some kids.

Lucky’s Dizzy Dogs Rider Experience

Up to Four riders, 36 inches and above, can have fun for each Dog. One seatbelt per row will keep them safe. Once Lucky’s Dizzy Dogs begins the Dogs will lift up a couple of feet in the air. Then the ride will begin to spin. Once per rotation, the Dog will get a nice bounce to it. About the time that the bounce is stopping it will do it again. Once the ride is done the spinning will cease and the Lucky will come back safely to the ground.

Lucky’s Dizzy Dogs: The Good

If you look at the picture above you will see that each car spins by going around attached to one tire. Once per cycle it gives a bounce by going up a tiny hill then letting gravity do its thing. It isn’t a huge thrill but for a kid ride, it is simple yet fun. Also, Adults can ride with the kids!

The best thing about this ride is the theme and setting. Our daughters wanted to ride this every day we are at the park. They will ask for it by name. Something about the bright colors and the smiling dog face really stuck with all of us. It fits so well with the Fireman’s landing theme and it being right next to the water really raises the bar.

The last one will be random but I see it more often than not. The ride attendants have a lot of fun with this. When the ride is coming to a stop they will often tell you to yell “Get Down Lucky”. For whatever reason, this ride consistently had fun people operating it. That will always make a ride more fun.

The Ride is fully in motion with Lucky raised up in the air.

Lucky’s Dizzy Dogs: The Bad

This ride already exists in another area of the park. Under different theming, you will find Happy Frogs in the Grand Exposition section of the park. Why a park would buy two of the exact same ride is bizarre. Lucky’s Dizzy Dogs has far superior theming. So out of the two, we recommend Lucky. Outside of that oddity, we have no other complaints.

Final Verdict

Lucky’s Dizzy Dogs is a great addition to Silver Dollar City. It is a fun and mild thrill for the younger members of your party. The great theme and beautiful setting make this memorable. Adding two of the same model is weird but this is the better of the two. On a scale of one to ten, Lucky’s Dizzy Dogs gets a nine.
