Happy Frogs has been in operation at Silver Dollar City since 2006. This is a Zamperla made attraction from their model called Jump Around. Made for younger kids, but adults can choose to ride with them.
Happy Frogs Rider Experience
Once Happy Frogs begins the frogs will lift up a couple of feet in the air. Then the ride will begin to spin. Once per rotation, the frog will get a nice bounce to it. About the time that the bounce is stopping it will do it again. Once the ride is done the spinning will cease and the frogs will come back safely to the ground.
Happy Frogs The Good
It is a simple concept that pleases the kids. Our daughters loved riding it, so that is a ringing endorsement from the target audience.
If you look at the picture above you will see that each car spins by going around attached to one tire. Once per cycle it gives a bounce by going up a tiny hill then letting gravity do its thing. It isn’t a huge thrill but for a kid ride, it is simple yet fun.
The Bad
I don’t know if I have ever seen something like this. Silver Dollar City already has this exact ride with different theming. Over in Fireman’s landing is Lucky’s Dizzy Dogs. The only difference being is that is themed to dogs instead of frogs. Out of the two, we found Lucky’s to be the more visually appealing of the rides. Outside of that oddity, there are no complaints.
Final Verdict
Happy Frogs was a good addition to the park. It is always good to see rides that are built for kids but allow the adults to ride with them. It is a simple concept that works for its target audience. The Frogs look nice and it fits the theming of the area that surrounds it. On a scale of one to ten, Happy Frogs gets a seven.
