Fire Spotter has been in operation at Silver Dollar City since 2015. This is a Zamperla Balloon Race Model for the Fireman’s Landing portion of the park. A family spinning ride that’s mild enough for kids, but provides enough intensity to entertain adults.
Fire Spotter Rider Experience
Up to four riders are able to sit in each balloon. Each side of the balloon has one seat belt to secure your ride. Once the ride begins the Balloons will raise a little bit in the air. While the ride is rising it will begin to spin. The whole ride spins, not the individual balloons. Once the speed is decently fast the ride will tilt.
Fire Spotter The Good
The tilting was the key. It gives the ride some nice balance in sensation. To often, flat rides just do one thing over and over. With this the tilting gives a variance to the ride that we really appreciated. The ride is really intense for a family ride because of speed and tilting.
The Fireman aspect in combination with the American Flag aesthetic also ensures that the ride looks great as well. It fits so well with the rest of Fireman’s landing area. The nice trees and bushes also make it a pretty ride will you are spinning.
The Bad
The spinning can be a little much for those that don’t do well with it. Also on busy days, this is ride will have a long line that moves slowly. These are very minor complaints.
Final Verdict
Fire Spotter is a very good addition to Silver Dollar City. Kids are going to love it. The adults that like spinning will also love this. It’s a great looking ride on and off. On a scale of one to ten, Fire Spotter gets an eight and a half.
