Spinsanity at St. Flags STL

Spinsanity has been operating at Six Flags St. Louis since 2017. Designed, and manufactured by Zamperla. This is the park’s “Mega Disk’O” ride.

Spinsanity Overview

Riders sit in one of thirty-nine bicycle seat chairs that look outwards into the park. The disc spins, and at the same time, the disc moves up, and down a giant half pipe.

I mentioned in my review of SkyScreamer, that it doesn’t look that intense until the ride starts going. The same thing applies to Spinsanity. When looking at it from the queue line, it doesn’t look like it’s fast or is going to be that intense. First time I rode Spinsanity I wasn’t expecting much. Once it started spinning and going up, and down the halfpipe, I was very impressed by how much force this gives off. It really wasn’t one I was excited to ride. I am glad I did. Spinsanity is a lot of fun!

Should you take it for a Spin?

The fact that thirty-nine people can ride this together means that unless you’re at a large family reunion, everybody in your group is going to be able to ride at one time. If anybody is too chicken and doesn’t want to ride, then they can stand out, and watch you since you’ll be facing outward, and you can laugh at them. It just has great execution. Any ride that is fun for those experiencing, but also fun for those watching gets extra points from me. Also, Spinsanity doesn’t take up much of a footprint at Six Flags St. Louis.

As I have mentioned in some of my other reviews, I have a lower tolerance for spinning rides. This one is called Spinsanity, so you can do the math. I think this is a very fun ride, yet choose to not ride it most of the time. Only for rare occasions like when I’m with a group of people that I don’t normally go to Six Flags St. Louis with. My only real complaint with this exact model at Six Flags St. Louis is the size of it. Zamperla makes these in a couple of different sizes. Six Flags St. Louis decided to go with the budget model.

Final Verdict

This one comes recommended, as long as you can take the spinning. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give Spinsanity a 7.5.

Pros: Thirty-nine seater, fun for riders and non riders, more intense than it looks

Cons: One of the smallest of this Zamperla design
