Catwoman Whip at Six Flags St. Louis

Catwoman Whip at Six Flags St. Louis has been in operation since 2022. Designed and manufactured by Funtime from their Booster line. Originally was planned to open in 2020 but was eventually pushed back two years because of the pandemic. Catwoman had big shoes to fill seeing as she was the replacement for one of the more beloved flat rides in the park Superman: Tower of Power. While we will miss the drop tower there is no denying that Catwoman Whip at Six Flags St. Louis is a great ride. That is of course if you are willing to wait for it.

Catwoman Whip at Six Flags St. Louis Experience

Catwoman Whip sits right across from the legendary Screamin’ Eagle at the back of the park. Riders must be at least 50 inches to ride. We highly recommend you hit this one up early since even short lines can mean long waits. Once you have finally made it to the front they will gather groups of eight. They will instruct everyone to remove everything from their pockets. No loose articles at all are permitted. You will be kept safe by an over-the-shoulder harness that also needs to have a belt to lock it into place. Once the ride ops have confirmed all restraints are locked and checked the fun will begin!

Catwoman Whip at Six Flags St. Louis has excited riders screaming and having fun.

Starting off there is a metal platform that will lower making a loud industrial sound. Trust us it is very intimidating. Once that goes down the ride will start to rotate either backward or forwards. As the ride will do each rotation the seats you are in also will rotate independently. So depending on many different factors such as speed and weight distribution you could be going upside down multiple times or only a few. We have never had it barely do it and neither have we had a ride that felt out of control the whole time. After two minutes, they will stop you at the top of the ride and wait while they load the new riders below. Once done the ride will go in the opposite direction of whatever your first cycle was. After another two minutes, the ride will slow down. Once fully stopped they will release your restraints and you can gather up your loose articles.

Catwoman Whip at Six Flags St. Louis: The Good

The ride itself blows us away! Each cycle last two minutes and they are really exciting! Sometimes you will get a violent inversion making it feel like the ride is out of control. But the best is when the ride is slowing down and you get that one that just barely has enough momentum to flip. Catwoman Whip at Six Flags St. Louis is one of the most thrilling rides we have ever experienced. It is the rare flat ride that offers an experience that is up there with the best roller coasters.

The vehicle spinning with riders facing upwards and downwards.

The ride stands at 164 feet and is at the back end of the park. This was a wise placement since Six Flags St. Louis gradually goes uphill the further back in the park you go. When you are at the halfway point on the ride and they stop you at the top. The visuals up there are just amazing. Either you will be facing the Screamin’ Eagle and the hilly trees behind it, or looking out over the park and can see for miles. Either way, you will feel every bit of that 164 feet.

There is no doubt that this is a worthy replacement for Superman. The ride will blow away any who are brave enough to give this one a shot. We want to call it a masterpiece but there is one major flaw holding it back.

The Bad

Catwoman Whip at Six Flags St. Louis has an almost fatal flaw. That line crawls painfully slow. Even if its queue line (which isn’t big to begin) is half full you are signing up for about an hour wait. It also isn’t just the time it is the perception. When you are in line for Batman: The Ride and the line is longer, at least you keep moving. So few people can ride with long intervals between them boarding, you will be standing in the same place for what can feel like forever.

The car is up high and the only thing shown is the sky, clouds and the ride.

While at the park we highly recommend you head straight here before the line fills up. Even with a big line, we think the ride is so much fun that it is worth it but avoid it if possible. They do have a single rider line but even that is problematic. I have tested that a couple of times and it will be a coin toss if it will save you anytime.

Final Verdict

Catwoman Whip at Six Flags St. Louis is a great addition to the park. It will please all thrill seekers looking for a unique ride. This is one of the best rides in the whole park for those willing to wait. With its atrocious capacity being the only real issue with the ride. This is one of the must rides while visiting this beautiful and underrated park. Because of these reasons, Catwoman Whip at Six Flags St. Louis gets an eight and a half out of ten.
