Star Spangled Carousel at Holiday World has been in operation since 2008. This is the park’s American-themed Merry-Go-Round. It is a little small for a Carousel, but those looking for a calming ride will like it.
Star Spangled Carousel Rider Experience.
Riders must be 42 inches to ride alone, but anyone can ride as long as accompanied by an adult. Once you enter the ride, you can pick between the usual horses. But Star Spangled Carousel has a few extra options to choose from. You can also ride on a cat, chariot, dolphin, dragon, rabbit, tiger, and zebra. There are no safety restraints to worry about here. Once the ride begins, depending on what seat you chose they will slowly go up and down as the ride spins. This lasts for about a minute and a half. Once the ride comes to a complete stop, you are able to exit the ride safely.
Star Spangled Carousel: The Good
The variety of animals to choose from makes this a lot of fun for kids. They will want to keep riding to sit on the next seat. Speaking of those, animals they look great! This isn’t the fanciest Carousel out there but it is well maintained.
The Bad
This is a rather small Merry-Go-Round. We think of rides like this as majestic. With how small of an installation this is, it loses that majestic factor that makes rides like this special.
Final Verdict
Star Spangled Carousel was an okay addition to the park. We like how all members of your group will be able to ride. The animals look great and are very well maintained. The size of the ride does make this one feel a little underwhelming. Because of these reasons this Merry-Go-Round gets a six and a half out of ten.
