Traveler’s Stop at Silver Dollar City serves up chicken and grilled cheese sandwiches. Located very close to Time Traveler, if you keep walking towards the Grand Exposition section of the park. You will want to make this stop. The sandwiches are amazing and the fries are even better!
Traveler’s Stop Experience
Traveler’s Stop is a walk-up window-only restaurant. You can view the menu as you wait in its upward zig-zagging line. Once at the register you can place your order. We prefer the chicken sandwiches here but the Grilled Cheese options are still worth it. They give you an order number and will start preparing it. Once they give you your food you can find the seating area behind the restaurant. It is a shared seating area with a couple of other different food options nearby. Now it is time to enjoy!
Traveler’s Stop: The Good
A lot of theme park food is based on successful restaurants, then trying to duplicate them. Here at Traveler’s Stop, it is trying to be Chick-fil-A. If you go there and find what I say not to be true go ahead and let me know in the comments. I preferred this fried chicken sandwich to Chick-fil-A! On top of that, the fries are just about the best thing ever. The Seasoned Curly fries are the real reason we come to eat here. Every time we have stopped here they are fresh and hot. Go ahead and get any of the grilled cheese options but really just make sure and get these fries!
Eating at Silver Dollar City is never cheap. Just like any theme park really. Yet these were I think probably the best deals on food. So if you are trying to keep to a budget this is our highest recommended place to dine.
The Bad
Traveler’s Stop is very small. To our recollection, there are only ever two workers here. One to take your order and assemble it when it is done and the other is cooking. What this means is if there is any kind of a line you will be waiting for a while. To be clear we think it is worth your time, but Silver Dollar City is a major theme park that gets very busy. A setup like this usually works best at a smaller, and less crowded theme park.
Final Verdict
Traveler’s Stop is a great place to eat at Silver Dollar City. Either the grilled cheese or the chicken sandwich will give you a meal worth remembering. However, the delicious seasoned curly fries are why we keep coming back! Unfortunately, the setup of this restaurant would be better suited to a smaller park, but they do make up for it in quality. Because of these reasons, Traveler’s Stop on a scale of one to ten gets a nine.
