Silver Dollar City Train also called the Frisco Silver Dollar Line taking on new passengers.

Silver Dollar City Train

The Silver Dollar City Train has been in operation since 1962. Or as it is officially known as the Frisco Silver Dollar Line. It is more than just a train amusement ride. While it does go around and give a tour of the park, it also has tons of props set up and a mid-stop show.

One such prop is a broken down train which presumably didn't have the new brakes installed.
They must have not installed the new breaks when this happened!

Silver Dollar City Train Experience

A lot of people can fit on this train at once. That is a good thing since this train fills up on even not busy days. As the train leaves the station the conductor will give you instructions and points of interest on Silver Dollar City. You will get a look at some of the hard-to-see coasters like Powder Keg and Outlaw Run. The Train will eventually be held up by a not very smart robber. Don’t worry the good guys always win at Silver Dollar City! Afterward, the train will continue on its way. Eventually coming back into the station to pick up more passengers.

Silver Dollar City Train: The Good

The conductor’s script that they read is hilarious. It rides a fine balance as being informative but also poking fun at the whole thing. It is the perfect table setting for what is to come. After getting some good looks at the coasters it is back into the woods. It doesn’t look like you are at a theme park any longer. The forest is beautiful that surrounds this park. Then the train has to stop to deal with a local. This is only an excuse for a show. That show is filled to the brim with corny, laugh-out-loud jokes.

Part of the show has the conductor and the hapless robber talking things over.

After leaving the show the train will pick up speed to get to the top of the hill again to make it back to the station. That train is a real steam locomotive. You can really tell the difference between these and the electric ones. We always enjoy the real thing so much more.

What could you possibly not like?

Normally I will try to come up with something to say that could be improved for any ride. However, we are at a loss for this one. I have no complaints at all. If forced to come up with something I would suggest they give out ticket ride times. Love the idea of getting an old-fashioned ticket. Also, it would help with the massive crowds trying to ride this.

Just love the tradition of waving to the train as it passes.

Final Verdict

The Silver Dollar City Train is about as good as it gets. Because it is a very long and entertaining ride! So no matter the age of anyone in your group, everyone is going to love this ride. Silver Dollar City cares a lot about this one, and it shows. On a scale of one to ten, Silver Dollar City Train gets a ten!
