Firehouse Play Place has been in operation at Silver Dollar City since 2015. It’s one of the most inventive playground experiences we have ever seen at a theme park. Located in the Firemans Landing section of the park right next to Firefall.
Firehouse Play Place Experience
As you walk into the Firehouse Play Place you will see soft blue balls everywhere. Then it is your decision on how to interact with them. You can put them into small air guns that will blast them to the other side. Or pick an air cannon that will blast them out at about 20 a time. Or have them sucked up a huge tube to spill out the top like lava. The amount of things to do here is just amazing. There is also a very small playground, climbing structure to the left of this installation. Less crowded and way less noisy.
Firehouse Play Place The Good
There is just so much to do. Our kids don’t consider it a good day at Silver Dollar City unless we spend some time at the Firehouse Play Place. The first time we ever played in here, we spent over two hours! Not only were the kids having fun, but so were the adults. The variety of what you can do makes it so that it never gets repetitive. It is a lot of fun shooting those balls out of the cannon when your kids walk past. Don’t worry the balls are so soft that they cannot hurt anyone.
The Bad
It can get very loud inside this playground. The sound of air guns being shot is constant. Also with kids screaming and yelling it can get tiresome. Depending on who you are this might not be a bad thing. But it is worth mentioning that it can get a little overwhelming.
Final Verdict
The Firehouse Play Place is a wonderful addition to Silver Dollar City. They were thinking outside the box in providing quality time for kids with this one. Most adults will also get a kick out of this. I know we did. With hours of great family fun, this attraction is a true winner. On a scale of one to ten, Firehouse Play Place gets a ten!
Pros: So many things to do, the balls are soft enough that no one gets hurt, fun for all ages
Cons: The noise can be overwhelming to some
