Ron Toomer Roller Coaster innovator
His list of innovations is staggering. He was the man who designed the first modern looping coaster in Corkscrew for Knots Berry Farm. You have him to thank for introducing us to the Hyper Coaster. Originally when Cedar Point approached Arrow Dynamics on what would become Magnum XL-200 they were not looking at breaking the 200-foot barrier.
If you have ever been to a Theme Park then you will have seen an Arrow Mine Train. Ron is the man that designed the first one of them. Runaway Mine Train at Six Flags Over Texas opened in 1963. The Mine Train became so massively popular that almost no park would open without enlisting the services of Ron and Arrow Dynamics to design them one.
He also had a keen eye for the beautiful. The interlocking loops of Busch Gardens Loch Ness Monster were his idea as well. For this and many other beautiful designs make him also a Legend.

He designed so many iconic roller coasters that his legacy will live on into the future. While some of his best creations like Vortex at Kings Island have been removed it is his innovations that will always live on. Next time you are on a coaster that goes above 200 feet or flips you upside down you should say a thank you to Ronald Valentine Toomer!
