Bonzai Pipeline at Six Flags St. Louis

Bonzai Pipeline at Six Flags St. Louis has been in operation since 2012. Designed and manufactured by Pro Slide Technology Inc., this is an extreme water slide built for those looking to be scared.

Bonzai Pipeline at Six Flags: Overview

You walk the stairs to 290 feet where you will see two enclosed pipes. The intimidation factor with this ride is pretty incredible. At least it was for me. You have to enclose yourself into a pipe where you know that when the operator hits a button, the floor is going to drop from underneath you!

Bonzai Pipeline at Six Flags really scared me.

I have only ever ridden Bonzai Pipeline one time. I came very close to chickening out. Yet something about having to walk back down the stairs embarrassed stopped me. I mustered up the courage and took the plunge. My heart was beating out of my chest and my hands were shaking after.

While I normally have a complaint about an amusement ride that you can’t ride with a friend, I don’t find that an issue here. Since you and your friends can have such a great time on who is getting in the pipe first.

Close your eyes and nose.

The only real downside I have here is since this is a water slide without a tube, you will get water in your eyes and nose if you’re not closing them. I always find it takes away from the experience. Yet this is over fast enough that it isn’t a huge deal.

My only other complaint about this ride is that it seems to not be open enough. It’s a troubling sign. Usually, when a ride is not open very often it’s the first sign that it could be removed soon. I hope that’s not true because It would be a loss to Hurricane Harbor’s lineup.

Final Verdict

This is one of the only amusement rides in my adult life to actually scare me. Yes, it’s too short, and can only be done one at a time. So what, this ride transcends those issues. On a scale of one to ten, I give Bonzai Pipeline a nine.

Pros: The Tube

Cons: Short, Only one at a time.
