Wahoo Racer at Six Flags St. Louis

Wahoo Racer at Six Flags St. Louis has been an operation at Six Flags, St. Louis, since 2009. Designed and manufactured by Pro Slide Technology Inc., this is the park’s matt racing water slide. So in a nutshell, it’s very short, but a thrilling ride.

Wahoo Racer at Six Flags St. Louis: Overview

Instead of an innertube like on other water slides, you sit on a mat with two handles. Then you line up with up to five of your friends or family. Finally, it’s on your marks, get ready, get set, go! The slide Has three built-in drops and level offs. Each drop you get going faster. I don’t know for sure but it certainly feels like the fastest I have ever gone on one of these water rides at Hurricane Harbor.

The racing aspect definitely makes this a more communal experience. Something I am always looking for in amusement rides. It’s fun talking trash while walking up the stairs. And of course, whoever wins gets all the bragging rights.

Thrilling but Short

My biggest complaint is that this is one of the shortest attractions in the whole park. All told you all only be having fun for about seven seconds. Though admittedly, those seven seconds are great.

It is never happened to me but is worth mentioning here, that I have witnessed other people getting hurt on this water slide. I don’t mean going to the hospital hurt. I am talking about bruised or knocking their wind out.

Final Verdict

This packs in a lot of fun in such a short ride. A good but underwhelming addition to the park. I usually pass on this one when at Six Flags St. Louis. On a scale of one to ten, I give Wahoo Racer a six and a half.

Pros: Fast, Fun with a group

Cons: Short, potential of getting wind knocked out
