Nordic Chaser at Worlds of Fun Review

Nordic Chaser at Worlds of Fun has been operating since 2018, designed and manufactured by Mack from their Seastorm Model. Riders take to the high seas for some spinning and bouncing fun. This splendid family attraction combines a fun theme with thrilling forces.

Nordic Chaser at Worlds of Fun Experience

Nordic Chaser sits towards the front of the park in the Scandinavia section, past Viking Voyager and next to Scrambler. While this can attract a lot of riders, it is rare to wait in a long line. Riders must be 48 inches to ride alone, but anyone between 48 and 40 can ride if an adult accompanies them. You will be kept safe by a safety belt and a lap bar. Once the ride attendant has checked all restraints, prepare to set sail!

Riders can sit two per boat. As it begins to spin around the structure, it will pick up more and more speed. To heighten the thrill, tiny bumps (waves) cause your ship to bounce. All told, the ride duration is about a minute and a half. Once the ride has come to a complete stop, the ride attendant will give the all-clear. Then, you can undo the restraint and exit the ride safely.

Nordic Chaser at Worlds of Fun: The Good

The Nordic theme helps to heighten the experience. The boats are incredibly well-detailed down to the carvings that each boat has. The massive ship that sits at the center also catches the eye. This ride would be fun without any of these extras, but the fact that Worlds of Fun spent a little extra makes this even better.

This ride goes fast! It takes a second to get there, but it is breathtaking when this is at full speed. The force that pushes you to the side of the boat is something that never gets old.

The massive ship in the middle of the ride looks like a much bigger version of the boat you sit in.

The waves that make your boat go up and down help up the excitement. They won’t provide any airtime, but they do cause you to not get comfortable in your seat. The speed, waves, and above-average theming make this model one of the best installations of this type of ride we have ever ridden.

The Bad

Flat Rides can get very old if they do the same thing repeatedly with no variation. Sadly that is a problem with Nordic Chaser. Once the ride is at full speed, you have experienced everything it offers. Also, rides that do the same thing over and over again are much quicker to induce nausea. That is the case with this ride. We love riding this once but not one we want to marathon.

Each boat has sails on them.

Final Verdict

Nordic Chaser at Worlds of Fun is a wonderful addition to the park. We are not usually the biggest fan of rides like this but the park set this one up for success. The level of theming is the biggest reason to love this installation. The ride doesn’t offer enough variation in motion to make it a standout but will thrill all who take to the seas. Because of these reasons, Nordic Chaser at Worlds of Fun gets a seven out of ten.
