Rivertown Smokehouse at Silver Dollar City opened its doors in 2020. It is the premier restaurant of the new Rivertown section of the park. Anything smoked meats can be found here. The quality is top-notch. Silver Dollar City has the best food of any theme park we have ever been to and it is because of places like the Rivertown Smokehouse.
Rivertown Smokehouse Experience
Usually, Rivertown Smokehouse will open at 11 AM. This place is very popular, so I advise getting there right when they open if you want to not stand in a long line. You walk through some of the lines and get to the main viewing area. Here you will be able to select what kind of meat you will be having and what sides. Once they give you your tray, you will go to the register to check out. From there you are able to sit in the huge seating area which is cradled up to Mystic River Falls. While you enjoy your meal you can view people having a great time on the ride.
Rivertown Smokehouse: The Good
The BBQ-type restaurant at most theme parks consists of one type of Pork Sandwich and maybe wings if you’re lucky. Not so at Rivertown Smokehouse, they are a fully stocked restaurant! Every item is about as good as it gets. Not just the meats. My favorite of the sides was the baked beans, and the Macaroni and Cheese. The baked beans are thick and have just the right amount of spice. The Macaroni and Cheese is so flavorful. To top of my meal they give you this dinner roll which was just as good as everything else.
Every meat option I get I am happy with. Though my favorite is the ribs. Combine their ribs with some of the Silver Dollar City signature BBQ sauces and you are in for a treat. As with most BBQ, I paired my meals with a Dr. Pepper. It is the perfect complement to the masterpiece they are serving up.
The Bad
Just like with every other thing I have to say about the food at Silver Dollar City there isn’t going to be anything “Bad”. Though there are two things here that I think could be improved upon. Firstly is that line. When it is Lunchtime the line will go through the building out and down the street. You could wait over 30 minutes to get your food. Finding some more efficient way of getting that line moving would be a great idea. Secondly is no indoor Dinning. They have tents over the outdoor seating area so that is nice. But sometimes you just want to sit inside in the air conditioning. I would consider these both to be minor issues. This place is amazing.
Final Verdict
Rivertown Smokehouse was an incredible addition to the park. The food at Silver Dollar City already couldn’t be beaten and now they have knocked it out of the ballpark again! With the best-smoked meats and sides around you and your group will be very satisfied. Yes, you might have to wait a while in line to get it, and if it is hot you might be hoping for an indoor spot to sit. However, if you like food of this type then you will be more than satisfied. Because of these reasons, Rivertown Smokehouse on a scale of one to ten gets a nine and a half.
