First Cone Parlor at Six Flags St. Louis is a wonderful Ice Cream Shop. I have many childhood memories wrapped up with this excellent addition to the park. The smell of freshly baked waffle cones makes this place very hard to pass up.
First Cone Parlor at Six Flags: Overview
Prairie Farms is the Supplier of the Ice Cream. This is a good thing because out of the local ice cream manufacturers Prairie Farms is one of the good ones. The ice cream comes in your traditional flavors vanilla, cookies ‘n’ cream, meant chocolate chip, and on and on. My favorite is the chocolate chip cookie dough.
By far the best thing about First Cone Parlor is that they make all of the waffle cones in-house. This gives a couple of different benefits. Firstly that the waffle cones taste fresh and wonderful while eating your yummy dessert. Secondly is the heavenly smell that permeates out of the shop and into the main way.
When I was a kid my parents usually said no to getting ice cream cones when we were at Six Flags, St. Louis. But the smell would drive me crazy. Now that I am the parent, and I have a Dining Pass, I am able to take my family and get this routinely. My younger self would be proud!
You get a very decent size ice cream cone. I think by the book it’s supposed to be two scoops but most of the time the person will give you a good stack of ice cream on top of your cone.
First Cone Parlor at Six Flags could use a new Floor.
The only drawback that I can say about First Cone Parlor is that the floor looks like it is the original installation from when the park opened in 1971. I am not 100% that is true, but what is true is that the floor looks grimy. For Six Flags St. Louis to raise the bar and make this place even more outstanding I would like them to invest in getting a new floor. Since I don’t actually think that the floor is dirty all the time. It just looks like it has been used over and over and is caked on to the point where cleaning at night is probably not going to help.
Final Verdict
First Cone Parlor is an outstanding addition to Six Flags St. Louis. Anyone with the dining pass take note that your snack will get you one of the waffle cone ice creams. It is one of the best values in any Six Flags park for your snack. My family and I eat here all the time and make wonderful memories. On a scale of one to ten, I give First Cone Parlor a nine.
Pros: Ice Cream, Waffle Cones, Snack option on Dinning Pass
Cons: Floor needs to be replaced.
