Phoebe Snapp’s Taffy is a gourmet taffy shop located on the main street of the park. You can actually watch them making the saltwater taffy while browsing the store since they have the factory in plain view. No trip to Silver Dollar City is complete without picking up a pound of Taffy from Phoebe Snapp’s Taffy.
Phoebe Snapp’s Taffy The Good
What we love most is the sheer amount of flavors. It would have to be impossible to go into this shop, and not be overloaded with the number of flavors you want to try. Our favorites were the Strawberry Lemonade, Sour Apple, and Peanut Butter flavors. Upon first walking into the shop we had originally intended to buy a couple of flavors to know if it was quality or not. Instead, we walked out with a huge bag full of just about every flavor that looked good.
Phoebe Snapp’s Taffy The Bad
We don’t consider any of this actually bad. Of course, there are a bunch of flavors you couldn’t pay me to eat in the shop. Coconut comes to mind as one such flavor. However, this will all come down to personal taste. About the only knock, we can give it is we thought that the flavors would be a little sweeter than they are. Again, we don’t mean this as a knock against the store. The candy feels old-fashioned, as does everything in Silver Dollar City. So they won’t taste like sugar explosions like so much modern candy. However, depending on your taste that could be a good thing.
Final Verdict
Phoebe Snapp’s Taffy is a perfect shop for Silver Dollar City. It fits the theme of the whole place and servers up great candy. Every time we visit this place is packed with families. This place is so popular we find when we go we get a list from family and friends which taffy to pick up for them! Our personal taste would make the candy sweeter, but that is just a personal taste. You should go pick up a pound or two of saltwater taffy when visiting Silver Dollar City. Because of these reasons, Phoebe Snapp’s Taffy gets a nine out of ten.
