Fireball at Six Flags St. Louis

Fireball at Six Flags St. Louis has been flipping riders upside since 2016. Designed and manufactured by Larson International. Most refer to this model just as a Larson Looper. Though this specific one at Six Flags St. Louis is the 22M Giant Loop. It does a loop, but is it a roller coaster?

Fireball at Six Flags St. Louis is a Roller Coaster?

The parks that host these Larson Looper’s do advertise them as Roller Coasters. Though the consensus in the coaster community is that they are not. They do not Roll or Coast.

I know this kind of distinction doesn’t matter to a lot of people. For myself, I count this a Flat Ride. It is one element that repeats over, and over. Flat ride it is. Noting wrong with a flat ride. Some of my best friends are flat rides.

Fireball at Six Flags St. Louis, is it fun?

If you will call Fireball fun, it will definitely depend on how comfortable you are with how intense this ride is. If you take a look at any looping roller coaster, you will notice that its loops aren’t quite perfectly shaped. This is done because the forces given off by a true circle loop can be rather intense. So then how fun is just doing this over, and over?

I would say it is great fun. Yet, I only ride this one with groups of people. First, because it is so intense that it can really put me out for the day. The second reason is my favorite aspect of Fireball. That is most of the seating is two seats, facing two seats.

This makes the social nature of the ride a blast. It is more fun when the blood is rushing to your head, and you feel like you might pass out when your friend is laughing and pointing.

My main issue is something I already touched on. I find Fireball to be the most intense ride in the park. The only ride that even comes close is Xcalibur. It can be fun, but it can also make it so that I don’t want to ride anything approaching intense for a good while.

Final Verdict

Fireball, while not a roller coaster is great fun. It will for sure be too intense for some, yet if you have at least three other riders who can sit together, then I would recommend Fireball. On a scale of one to ten, I give Fireball a 6.5

Pros: Color scheme looks nice, facing your friends while being tortured

Cons: Torture can be little to much, not a roller coaster Six Flags!
