Pounce & Bounce at Kentucky Kingdom has been in operation since 2000. Designed and manufactured by Zamperla from their Jumpin Star line. Young thrill-seekers can climb aboard and face their fear of heights. While there certainly isn’t much to it, that won’t stop its target audience from loving every second of it.
Pounce & Bounce at Kentucky Kingdom Experience
Pounce & Bounce is located inside the kiddie section called King Louie’s Playland. Placed in between Rock n Roller and Zeppelin. Riders must be at least 42 inches in order to ride. A lap bar will keep all riders safe. Once the ride attendant has checked that everyone is secured the fun can begin!
The ride will rise up a scary distance for kids, then drop. It will cycle through this a couple of different times. The fun will last around a minute and a half. The car will come back down fully to the ground. That is when the ride attendant will unlock the restraints and everyone can exit the ride safely.
Pounce & Bounce at Kentucky Kingdom: The Good
Pounce and Bounce is a ride that will blow away a certain age group. You always see younger kids having a blast with this. A lot of times it will be their favorite ride. Then it suddenly stops when they get older. Maybe it is when they get over the fear of the ride? But whatever the reason this ride will constantly have younger kids laughing and screaming.
Maybe the most photographed of the kid’s rides. Watching kid’s shocked faces on this never gets old. That is if the grown-ups aren’t riding it with them. However, be warned that it might be a tight fit.
The Bad
There is next to no theming. Originally it was called Tweety and Sylvester’s Pounce and Bounce. But when Six Flags sold the park they didn’t bother to add in any of their own Kentucky Kingdom charms. Why not add King Louie to this experience? For a kiddie section that has such great themed rides, this one sticks out as lazy.
Final Verdict
Pounce & Bounce at Kentucky Kingdom is a nice addition to the park. It will really knock young kid’s socks off. A solid ride duration will also make the sometimes longer line feel like it was worth it. We wish they had some theming to enhance the ride but your kids won’t mind that at all. Because of these reasons Pounce & Bounce gets a seven out of ten.
